As early as 1999 Budenheim took over a 75 % share of the specialist for food phosphates and sulphates Especialidades Quimicas Industriales S.A. de C.V. - EQISA. After the complete takeover of 100 % the company was renamed Budenheim México.

Budenheim México has been awarded by the Mexican Secretary of Labor and Social Prevision as a company which exceeds the requirements of the Mexican legislation on working conditions regarding workers' safety and health.
